The HIV Prevention Mural

This Piece was done at a place called The  Drop In Center in
Santa Cruz, CA. It was done as an effort to get young at-risk
kid's attention about drug use and the aftermath.  Most of the
kids coming through the Drop In Center were heavily
addicted to drugs and did not have much attention span or
patience to read anything unless they could relate to it AND it
was graphically explicit and relevant to what they were going
through, so a lot of the media that I created there was very
graphic. The flip side, was that it had shock value, so it
caught kids attention and subsequently, we were able to
sneak bits of information about HIV and Hep C transmission
as well as other drug related public health issues.
